Cardano Pool Tool Tour

PoolTool is a platform built to facilitate interaction between SPOs and users. Our goal is to provide our users with the latest information on Cardano, including detailed research tools to help them stake, and exclusive offers from SPOs. PoolTool was developed from the desire to compare real-time block generation status in various test nets and other pool status.・ ・ ・ (From https://pooltool.io/about)

* SPO (Stake Pool Operator)
Various people are involved in this tool, and I have been indebted to them since the beginning of the pool operation.hereYou can check the developers and translators at, so please check it out.

the term

Please use the term as a reference while using PoolTool.

Pool ID: Stake Pool identifier. If you have a similar name, you can definitely find it by searching based on this.

例: 5c8751066db31d6745bc8a58ba1534de67a95f9962fc309b4673dd8c

There are two types, one that starts with a pool called BECH32 Pool Id.

例: pool1tjr4zpndkvwkw3du3fvt59f5men6jhuevt7rpx6xw0wcct5kl04

The second one is used in the Daedalus wallet.

Fixed fee (Epoch Fee): Fixed operating cost for pool operation for each epoch. The lowest configurable 340 ADA that is set to keep the pool sustainable.

Variable Fee: For the purpose of pool sustainability, it is recommended to set an appropriate value considering operation, promotion, labor cost, etc. It is also important to make adjustments in consideration of ADA price fluctuations. It will be deducted from the reward as a right to the pool. Many pools are set to 0% and 1%.The 0% setting is said to be bad for the decentralized ecosystem, as the pool loses sustainability.I personally think that 0% promotion is possible because of the competitiveness that attracts delegates to the new pool. Also, please note that some malicious pools change to 100% without your knowledge.

Declared Pledge: An investment in the operator's pool. The more you have, the more rewards you have, but the impact doesn't seem to be that great. The index showing the influence of investment is a0 (0 ~ ∞). In PoolTool, if the green check is on, it means that the operator is investing properly as declared. If the actual investment is not enough, the epoch reward will be 0.

epoch NUM ROS: Return Of Stake in each epoch. The higher the percentage, the higher the reward in the past. The total ROS is the calculated value since the start of pool operation, and this value is more important in the long term.It depends on the parameters, but it seems to converge to around 4-5%.

Active Stake: The number of stakes in which the reward is generated. The latest stake will be a valid stake 2 epochs after delegation. It is in a state where it contributes to block generation and rewards can be obtained.

Active Stake %: Percentage of valid stakes delegated to the pool to all valid stakes.

Epoch Blocks %: The ratio of the number of blocks generated by the pool to the blocks generated by all pools.

Epoch Blocks: The number of blocks generated by the pool for each epoch.

Synchronized block height (Height) : The block number with which the pool is synchronized. The display must be set by the pool operator. It is displayed in a green frame to indicate whether it is in sync.

Latest stake (Live Stake) %: The ratio of stakes delegated to the pool to the total stakes.

Latest stake (Live Stake): The sum of the pledge and the delegated stakes.

Total ROS (Lifetime ROS): Percentage of overall returns, not just epochs.

Total number of blocks (Lifetime BLocks): The total number of blocks generated by the pool.

First Epoch: It is an epoch where the pool was launched.

Saturation: When the pool stake amount exceeds a certain value, the reward per delegator will decrease.Example: After 2020/12/6, due to the change to k = 500, the delegation amount of a certain pool A will reach the saturation level when it reaches about 64M.After that, even if the amount of delegation increases, the reward will decrease. This is to stabilize the entire network by increasing the number of pools and the delegation.

Page top screen

The current overview is displayed, and you can change the display language and display currency (ADA, USD, JPY, etc.).
For epoch progress, 1 slot = 1 second. Since 1 epoch = 5 days, 432000 slots are 100%.

How to read the pool details

Search by the desired pool name or ticker name and get the search results.Press the arrow on the far right.

Moves to the detailed pool information page.

You can see more detailed information such as stakes, fees, and the number of blocks generated in the terminology chapter.

Online relays are servers currently connected to Cardano's network. 100% (2/2) is an indication that 2 out of 2 units are in operation. The second one is mainly prepared for obstacles.

If you go further down, you can check the history of the epoch in the graph. Here, trends, ROS and stakes for each epoch are graphed. The trend is a line leveled by 4 epochs (initial value). You can also adjust it to see trends over longer spans.

If you press the block tab, you can check the information of the block generated for each epoch.Block number, generation time, size, number of transactions, etc.CardanoscanYou can see more details by searching using the block number etc. in Explorer such as.

If you press the arrow on the far right, you can see the blocks before and after the other pools were created.

On the Orphans tab, you can see blocks that were created but not added to the blockchain. The following is an example, but it is a case where another pool creates a block with the same number and that is written to the chain. The green cube is a successful block.

It may be determined by the battle, such as the slot battle where the lower one wins the pool-specific VRF value, and the height battle when the generated block is delivered to the next generated stake pool.Rest assured that this is a random element and not a server malfunction. The operator confirms it for investigation.

Next is the metric tab.

The propagation delay and the probability of the number of blocks generated in the epoch are graphed.

If the delay is too large, you may miss the opportunity to generate a block, so review the time settings on the server.

The standard deviation graph shows the probability (%) that the pool will generate X blocks. When you actually generate the block, the blue bar will be adjusted.

In the next SATURATION CURVE tab, you can see the saturation rate of the pool, the amount of saturated stakes, and the ROS according to the stakes. It shows that as the pool saturates, the rewards you get will decrease. The delegator can visually see how much space is available in the pool.

The blue line (K = 500) is the environment as of November 2021.In this graph, the pool is saturated near 11 Millions, and then the ROS (reward) is decreasing.

On the DELEGATORS tab, you can see the amount of stakes and addresses delegated to the pool.

On the AWARDS tab, you can see the awards that the pool has won.

Reward history display and output method

I will describe how to check the reward history. (Confirmed in November 2021)
Please use it to check past rewards and ADA prices.

It is very convenient, but it is also written that the accuracy of the information is not guaranteed because it is a beta version. When using it for final tax returns, especially for conversion to legal tenderCoinGeckoPlease use it with caution by using other tools together.

I was able to output in Japanese yen with spreadsheet software.
If you are not an operator, the following will have the same value. If you are an operator, the reward breakdown will be entered.

Again, please note that there may be some differences from Daedalus etc., so please be careful.
